Regular Part-Time, Non-Exempt
$12 per hour
Actively hiring for Summer 2026- Ability to commit a minimum of 12hrs/week during the school year, with a preference of 15-20 hrs/week.
- Students are eligible to work up to 40hrs/week during the summer, based on departmental needs. Preference given to students eligible to work a minimum of 20hrs/week.
Are you a local post-secondary educational student interested in a flexible work schedule and competitive pay? The Facilities Student Assistant provides support on building and facility related responsibilities. This individual represents the Kansas State University Foundation in a professional manner while interacting with donors, campus partners, guests, and other Foundation employees.
A day in the life of a Facilities Student could be:Building Maintenance
Assist in all aspects of maintenance which includes but is not limited to: painting, replacing light bulbs, cleaning/replacing damaged carpet or other furniture, assisting with installation of new furniture, or building related items. Support basic custodial and cleaning responsibilities and assist with general facility upkeep as needed.
Other Facility/Building SupportSetup and reset of multi-purpose rooms for meetings. Wash, clean, and refuel vehicles as needed. Walk the property and collect trash, refill supplies in the kitchenettes, assist with monthly tests of the fire alarm/safety system. Assist with snow/ice removal and other grounds or facility needs during severe weather conditions.
Requirements- Currently enrolled in coursework at a local post-secondary educational institution
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work closely with a variety of stakeholders
- A valid motor vehicle operator's license and acceptable driving record
- Interest in facilities operation, construction, or skilled trades career path
- Previous experience supporting building maintenance
- Experience using and selecting the appropriate, common tools for basic maintenance or simple repairs
