Custodial Specialist Senior
Kansas State University seeks an energetic, dependable Custodial Specialist Senior to help us fulfill our mission of learning, scholarship, creative endeavor, and research by creating and maintaining an environment which contributes to the health and safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position plays an integral role in maintaining and sustaining university structural assets. It is responsible for first impressions, thus playing an important role in student & faculty recruitment and retention.
The role performs a variety of custodial functions to include cleaning, operating & programming robotic equipment, disinfecting, minor equipment repair and preventative maintenance. It will require utilization of a broad array of chemicals and power equipment in the maintenance of floors and other duties. The position will also perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned by leadership and must be able to work with minimal supervision.
It requires frequent interaction with university students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Direct supervision is from the Custodial Services Supervisor. Hours are 5:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. with occasional call back for emergencies. As a Custodial Specialist Senior, the position will operate and maintain a variety of commercial janitorial equipment, including robotic equipment. The position will report issues with the autonomous cleaning robots, collaborate on schedules, optimize usage of robotic equipment, and provide feedback on their performance.

What You'll Need to Succeed Minimum Qualifications- Driver's license
- Ability to operate a wide variety of commercial janitorial equipment and understand/follow explicit instructions, both oral and written.
- Ability to be called into work in emergency situations including, but not limited to, inclement weather, flooding caused by weather, accidents or infrastructure failure, and recovery from other catastrophic events (tornado, fire, etc.).
- All candidates must be at least 18 years of age.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range$15.00 - $17.78 per hour + $0.60 shift differential.
