Custodial Specialist; Jardine Apts

About This Role

Be part of a cleaning team that provides services to Jardine Apartments, an on-campus community offering more than 800 apartments. The team provides inviting spaces to students, faculty, staff and guests by ensuring that facilities are clean, sanitized, tidy, safe, and welcoming for residents and guests. Regular work hours are 7:30 a.m.

-4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Duties include:

• Performs heavy industrial "ceiling to floor" cleaning in vacant apartments, administrative areas, and classrooms.
• Maintains attractive surroundings by picking up litter and debris, cleaning outdoor stairwells, handrails, landings, sidewalks and commons areas. Removes snow, spreads salt and sand stairs and sidewalks.
• Provides hotel type housekeeping services for conference groups and other guests.
• Makes minor repairs to equipment and stores equipment securely and properly.

Housing and Dining Services is a large, self-operated auxiliary department serving more than 5,000 students that call the K-State campus home. This "home away from home" meets more than the basic needs of students living with us - we provide affordable, safe and engaging accommodations and services for our residents, while finding unique ways to support them in their academic pursuits.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license upon employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Custodial experience and knowledge of commercial/industrial cleaning equipment.
• Ability to work harmoniously and effectively with others and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of tools, equipment and materials used in custodial work and their use of application.
• Ability to make basic repairs, perform basic maintenance tasks.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
