Job Description

Job Title: Technology Support Generalist

Job Brief: The Tech Support Generalist provides front line technical support for staff and/or students by troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. This role supports daily technology operations, assists users with technology needs, and helps maintain reliable and secure systems across the organization.

Location: 901 Poyntz Ave.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma and some higher education or technical school coursework and/or experience with computer software, hardware, maintenance and training of users.
  • Alternative qualifications acceptable to the Board.
  • All USD
    383 employees must pass a background check.
Salary
  • $17.50 - $20.25/hr.
  • Placement within this range is based on relevant qualifications, including prior experience, education, and applicable certifications (e.g., bachelor's degree, advanced certification, bilingual proficiency, etc.).
Terms of Employment
  • 12-month position.
  • New employees go through a 45-day introductory period as part of onboarding after which benefits will begin, and leave can be used.

Reports To: Immediate Supervisor – District Technology Support Coordinator.

Job Duties
  • Troubleshoots and repairs hardware and software problems as part of the district computer technology support team.
  • Pursues training and technical support to keep current on technology use, support and implementation strategies.
  • Provides technology support to district computer users under the direction of the Director of Technology in collaboration with the District Technology Support Coordinator.
  • Delivers technology professional development classes to district staff.
  • Delivers individual and small group training on computer use and applications to district staff.
  • Works as a contributing member of the district Technology Team to plan for and implement computer use among all district staff.
  • Willingness to learn about and support the basic Microsoft and Network installation.
  • Knowledge of Apple Products (e.g., iPad, Macintosh systems) and other tablet devices preferred.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
