Veterinary Autopsy Technician/Pathology Assistant

This position within the Kansas Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (KVDL) serves clients, faculty, residents, students, and coworkers by overseeing necropsy activities, managing the necropsy floor, scheduling, biosafety, equipment maintenance, record keeping, and providing assistance to pathologists in necropsy procedures and sample collection for various disease testing (e.g., rabies, BSE, CWD). Flexibility may be required regarding work hours at selected occasions.

. All employees must reside in the United States at the start of employment. K‑State does not provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents in Idaho.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma (or equivalent) and at least two years of experience in veterinary or laboratory work.
- 2 years of client service or communication experience.
- Knowledge of clinical specimens, testing, and medical databases.
- Veterinary technician training and certification.
- Animal science or veterinary medical experience.
- One year of lab or veterinary experience.
- Experience with computer software, including data entry in LIMS and Microsoft Office.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.

Considerable (up to 75 pounds).
