Transportation Driver – Midwest Health, Inc.
Join the team as a Transportation Driver at Midwest Health, Inc. In this role you will provide safe and courteous transportation for residents to and from appointments or activities.
Key Responsibilities- Comply with the facility’s personnel, safety, and corporate policies and procedures.
- Comply with nursing department policies and procedures.
- Report witnessed allegations of resident abuse/neglect immediately to the Administrator.
- Treat residents, family members, visitors, and team members with dignity and respect.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all resident and family information.
- Report to work on time and as scheduled.
- Secure passengers’ wheelchairs and restraining devices to stabilize during transport.
- Assist residents in wheelchairs; assist disabled passengers into and out of vehicle.
- Manage time and create routes that accommodate appointments and activities.
- Communicate with the Administrator and Nursing Department upon service disruption.
- Clean and service vehicle; refuel as needed.
- Report all vehicle repairs and any unsafe or hazardous concerns immediately to the Administrator.
- Assist with CNA or Maintenance duties between appointments and activities; be flexible for special occasions, holidays, and weekends.
- Be ‘on-call’ during scheduled days; if unavailable, arrange for replacement.

Physical Requirements
- Regular worksite attendance.
- Must have a CNA license in good standing with the State.
- Must have a valid CPR certification.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- If required to operate a motor vehicle for business purposes, must successfully complete the requirements in the Facility’s Motor Vehicles policy.
- Must be 21 years of age to drive company vehicles.
- Must be over 25 and under 70 to operate a 15-passenger vehicle.
- Must have a current CDL to operate a 16+ passenger vehicle.
- Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must work beyond normal hours and on weekends/holidays when necessary.
- Must assist in evacuation of residents during emergencies.
- Must perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must meet general health requirements set by state regulations and company policy (may include medical and physical examinations).
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift at least 50 pounds to a minimum height of 3 feet and move that weight a minimum distance of 4 feet.
- Must bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, lift overhead, and perform other common physical movements.
- Must relate to, and work with, ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and hostile people within the Facility.
- Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that allow these senses to function adequately.
