Instructional Support Staff
Job BriefInstructional support staff provides direct assistance to teachers and students to support classroom instruction and student learning. This role may include working with individuals or small groups, supporting instructional activities, and helping maintain a productive classroom environment.
LocationManhattan High School, Alternative Learning Environment – Manhattan, Kansas
Salary- $12.00 to $15.50 per hour
- Placement within this range is based on relevant qualifications, including prior experience, education, and applicable certifications (e.g., bachelor's degree, advanced certification, bilingual proficiency).
- Job is grant‑funded; continuation contingent upon grant availability.
7:10 am – 3:10 pm (8 hours)
Terms Of Employment- Positions available during the regular school year.
- New employees undergo a 45‑day introductory period; benefits begin after completion.
- Reports to Building Principal; performance evaluated per Board of Education policy on classified personnel.
- Work with individuals or small groups to reinforce materials introduced by the teacher.
- Help students master equipment or instructional materials assigned by the teacher.
- Assist with student supervision.
- Check notebooks, correct papers, supervise testing and make‑up work as assigned by teacher.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Manhattan High School serves 9th–12th grade students with enrollment of approximately 2,050. The school operates a modified block schedule, provides students with iPads, and offers a wide variety of electives and career pathways. Teachers are equipped with laptops and iPads, and classrooms have short‑throw projectors and Apple TV. The district uses Infinite Campus, Canvas, and Xello.
