Building Trades Technician - Electrician

Electrician:
• Perform skilled work in the repair, alternation, construction, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
• Inspect, test, service, install, upgrade and maintain electrical systems including conduit, wiring, light appliances, generators, power circuits, motor appliances, generators and switches.
• Install, maintain and repair electronic equipment including security, fire alarm, master clock and other devices and equipment; re-set clocks as necessary.
• Install electrical wiring and systems; wire main and sub electrical panels; install new circuits or replace existing circuits as needed; repair or replace power outlets as necessary; check circuits and replace breakers as appropriate.
• Assemble, install and repair lighting fixtures, wiring and controls; install and repair ballasts, sockets, capacitors, bulbs and other lighting parts, wiring and assemblies; install new electrical systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical malfunctions; perform diagnostics tests on system components and replace defective wires and parts including switches, receptacle and fuses.
• Install interior and exterior wiring; assemble and install lighting systems.

Education and Experience:

Any combination of training, education and experience which demonstrates possession of the knowledges and abilities stated above, and the ability to perform the duties of the position.

Education:

Graduation from high school supplemented by completion of an approved apprenticeship program in an assigned trade.

Experience:

Three years journey-level experience in an assigned trade such electrical
