The Lines by Natalia is a consulting studio focused on helping brands launch and scale product businesses across wholesale, mass market, and direct-to-consumer channels. We work closely with apparel brands and major retail partners including Ross Stores and other national retailers.
We are looking for a Design Intern who is highly visual, trend aware, and passionate about fashion product development. This role is ideal for a fashion student or recent graduate who wants hands‑on exposure to how apparel collections are developed for real retail buyers.
The primary focus of this role is trend research, inspiration gathering, and visual board creation to support active apparel accounts across girls, missy, and boys categories. There are opportunities to attend buyer meetings.
This is a great opportunity to see how product ideas move from concept → inspiration → retail assortment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct fashion trend research across retail, social media, runway, and competitor brands
- Pull visual inspiration from sources such as Pinterest, retail websites, and trend platforms
- Build inspiration boards and mood boards for upcoming apparel programs
- Support concept development for Girls, Missy, Boys accounts
- Assist in creating clean, visually compelling presentations for internal and client use
- Track emerging trends in graphics, embellishment, washes, and fabrication
- Help organize inspiration libraries and visual assets for future development
- Currently studying Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, or Product Development
- Strong visual eye and passion for apparel trends
- Comfortable using Pinterest, Canva, Google Slides, or Adobe tools
- Organized and detail oriented
- Ability to quickly pull together clean visual boards
- Familiarity with mass retail brands is a plus (Target, Zara, H&M, etc.)
- Self‑starter who enjoys working in a fast‑paced creative environment
- How apparel concepts are developed for major retailers

Manhattan Beach - In person and sometimes hybrid
- 15‑20 hours per week (flexible)
- Unpaid internship. $200‑$500 bonus based on performance at end of internship.
