About Us
The VDC Group is a growing Building Information Modeling (BIM) services firm specializing in MEP modeling for construction projects across the United States. Our clients include mechanical, plumbing, electrical and general contractors seeking accurate models, collaborative coordination, and dependable delivery.
Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive and relationship-driven Business Developer to expand our client base, increase brand visibility, and help position The VDC Group as a premier BIM partner nationwide. This role blends strategy, outreach, marketing alignment, and client relationship management. You will work directly with ownership to identify new opportunities and build clientele.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Identify and engage prospective clients such as mechanical contractors, plumbing contractors and general contractors.
- Build and manage a pipeline of qualified leads through research, networking, cold outreach, and industry platforms (e.g., Linked In).
- Conduct discovery calls to understand client needs, project scopes, and bidding opportunities.
Client Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients through consistent communication and follow-up.
- Ensure new clients receive a smooth onboarding experience.
- Identify cross-selling and repeat business opportunities.
Marketing & Brand Outreach
- Collaborate with ownership on social media strategy, campaigns, infographics, and content that strengthens market presence.
- Assist in developing marketing collaterals such as capability statements, case studies, and trade-specific outreach pieces.
- Represent The VDC Group at virtual or in-person industry events, conferences, and networking gatherings.
Qualifications
- Experience in business development, sales, or account management—preferably within AEC, BIM/VDC, construction, or engineering industries.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical services in simple terms.
- Self-driven, organized, and able to manage a pipeline independently.
- Comfortable with CRM tools, Linked In, email campaigns, and structured outreach processes.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams.
- A plus (but not required): familiarity with BIM workflows, Revit, coordination processes, MEP systems, or construction documentation.
