Overview

A leading commercial glass and glazing contractor in the Gulf South is looking for an experienced Storefront Fabrication Shop Manager to take charge of day-to-day operations in their aluminum fabrication facility. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, and skilled at leading a team in a fast-paced environment while ensuring precision, safety, and quality at every step.

• Supervise and support shop staff through training, scheduling, and mentorship.
• Review and interpret drawings, cut lists, and fabrication details to ensure accuracy.
• Organize daily workflow and production priorities to meet project schedules.
• Set up, operate, and maintain fabrication equipment and workstations.
• Ensure all machinery and tools are in safe, reliable condition.
• Oversee material handling, loading, and unloading for project deliveries.
• Maintain shop records, track productivity, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Keep facilities clean, organized, and compliant with safety protocols.
• Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and estimators to align fabrication goals with field requirements.

• Proven leadership experience within a fabrication, manufacturing, or glazing environment.
• Strong understanding of aluminum storefront systems and shop drawings.
• Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects at once.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction and fabrication documents.
