Position: IT Support Technician – Level I
Status: Full-time
Schedule: 8am-5pm
Position Summary:
The IT Support Technician – Level I is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting the hospital’s computers, phones, cameras, software, and other electronic systems to ensure efficient daily operations. This role provides technical support and training to staff, collaborates with vendors and corporate IT, and ensures compliance with hospital policies, cybersecurity standards, and HIPAA regulations. The technician works independently, prioritizes tasks based on urgency, and maintains professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
Responsibilities:
Technical Support & MaintenanceTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain computers, phones, printers, cameras, and related systems.
Install hardware, software, and network printers.
Coordinate equipment repair, replacement, and vendor services.
Maintain inventory and monitor technology assets.
Assist with LAN/WAN support and basic network troubleshooting.
Provide technical assistance and training to staff.
Communicate clearly and professionally with users at all levels.
Collaborate with corporate IT on system updates and projects.
Communicate project updates and system status to department leaders and management.
Prioritize and respond promptly to support requests.
Maintain documentation of IT procedures, repairs, and system updates.
Ensure system security and data protection standards are maintained.
Follow hospital policies and HIPAA regulations to safeguard sensitive information.
Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
Maintain organized work areas and accurate records.
Manage time effectively and work with minimal supervision.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Two (2) years of college coursework or equivalent IT experience. Degree or certification in Computer Science or related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum two (2) years of IT experience, preferably in a clinical or behavioral health setting.
Experience with Windows operating systems (Windows 7–10).
Familiarity with system installation, network printing, security fundamentals, and third-party software installation.
Basic knowledge of networking, file systems, device drivers, and distributed computing environments.
Familiarity with Windows NT and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 preferred.
Preferred Certifications
CompTIA A+
Microsoft Certified:
Modern Desktop Administrator AssociateMicrosoft Windows Server certifications
Additional Skills
Knowledge of LAN/WAN environments and multi-site system support.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prepare documentation and internal presentations.
Self-directed with strong analytical and organizational skills.
HIPAA & Compliance
