The Systems Testing Analyst is responsible for conducting capacity testing of batteries for commercial, telecom, and industrial systems. This role ensures accurate performance evaluation of critical power systems while maintaining a strong focus on safety, precision, and customer communication. The Systems Testing Analyst will perform on-site battery testing, analyze system performance, and assist in maintaining accurate documentation of testing procedures and results.
This position offers a dynamic, hands-on field experience, requiring frequent travel (50-75%) to customers’ sites across various industries. The Systems Testing Analyst will work in diverse environments, gaining valuable technical expertise while directly contributing to reliable power solutions. Technicians in this role will engage with cutting-edge testing technology, problem-solve in real-world applications, and collaborate with customers and teams to ensure seamless system performance.
Areasof Responsibility Battery Testing & Analysis
- Perform capacity testing of commercial, telecom, and industrial battery systems.
- Measure battery voltage, specific gravity, and fluid levels using industry-standard equipment.
- Connect and configure load banks, portable battery plants, and station batteries for testing.
- Ensure accurate programming of test equipment and apply temperature correction factors as needed.
- Identify and document battery performance trends and potential failure points.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety procedures, including proper PPE usage and hazard mitigation.
- Barricade work areas as required by site safety policies.
- Verify voltage, polarity, and system grounding before making any electrical connections.
- Inspect and maintain all tools and testing equipment for proper operation and compliance.
- Communicate with customers and site personnel to coordinate necessary connections and system requirements.
- Provide technical explanations and ensure customer expectations are met.
- Complete and submit accurate field service reports, timecards, and expense reports in a timely manner.
- Assist customer personnel with charger current limit adjustments and output voltage settings.
- Secure, organize, and transport all company tools, testing equipment, and documentation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all cables and test leads are properly stored.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and adhere to the company’s fleet maintenance schedule.
- Testing Accuracy:
Completion of battery capacity testing without procedural errors or miscalculations. - Safety Compliance:
Adherence to all safety protocols, PPE usage, and site-specific regulations. - Customer Satisfaction:
Positive customer feedback on communication, professionalism, and technical expertise. - Documentation Quality:
Timely and accurate submission of field reports, timecards, and expense reports. - Equipment Handling:
Proper maintenance and organization of tools, test equipment, and company assets.
Education : Electronic or Electrical School preferred
Experience : 4+ years related electrical experience, Installation of Power Systems or related field a plus
