Position: Project Manager (Construction)

Overview

Job Description Summary - Project Manager (Construction). The Project Manager is responsible for end-to-end management of construction projects—from contract award through completion, punch list, and warranty. This includes planning, scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor/vendor coordination, safety, quality control, client communication, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full oversight of construction projects (budget, schedule, quality, safety)
  • Manage superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Act as primary client liaison and resolve issues proactively
  • Develop and maintain construction schedules and cost controls
  • Approve subcontractor draws, invoices, and change orders
  • Ensure compliance with contracts, company policies, and government regulations
  • Maintain job documentation, reporting, and cost tracking
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and change orders
  • Ensure job site safety and risk management
  • Support hiring, evaluation, and performance management of field staff
  • Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards

Requirements Snapshot
  • Education
  • Required:

    Associate degree in Construction Management or related field
  • Preferred:
    Bachelor's degree in Construction Management
  • Experience
  • Required:

    5+ years as a Project Manager with projects valued $5M-$10M
  • Preferred: 10+ years, fast-track construction experience
  • Skills & Competencies
  • Strong leadership and people management
  • Excellent planning, organization, and multitasking
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Solid financial, budgeting, and cost-control skills
  • Strong computer proficiency (project reporting, documentation)
  • Deep understanding of subcontractor/vendor coordination
  • Sound judgment, integrity, and decision-making under pressure
  • Work Environment
  • Office-based with frequent job site visits
  • All-weather site visits required
