This HGV Class 2 Driver role offers steady, local work within an established civils contractor. The HGV Class 2 Driver / Plant Operative position provides a good mix of driving and hands‑on plant support, rather than being confined solely to the road.

The HGV Class 2 Driver / Plant Operative will act as an all‑rounder, combining transport duties with basic plant support and maintenance.

• Driving a low loader to transport plant to and from sites
• Operating a 20 tonne tipper truck as required
• Carrying out daily vehicle and plant checks
• Completing basic maintenance such as oil, filter and fluid changes
• Supporting site teams with plant movements
• Assisting with general yard duties and housekeeping
• Ensuring loads are secured correctly and transported safely
• Reporting defects promptly and accurately
• Working in line with health and safety procedures

This role will suit someone confident driving a Class 2 vehicle who also understands plant and is comfortable carrying out basic servicing and upkeep. Experience around excavators, dumpers and general site plant is beneficial.

A valid Class 2 licence is essential.
