Senior Software Engineer - Next Gen Core Accounts at Lloyds Banking Group.

Location:

Manchester.

Hours:

Full-time - 35 hours. Working pattern:
Hybrid, with at least two days per week in the Manchester office.

An exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Next Gen Core Accounts platform team.

• Actively contribute to the codebase while collaborating with architects and cross-functional teams to design scalable software solutions.
• Build strong relationships and support team development through mentoring and coaching, with a focus on collective success.
• Develop a deep understanding of the business domain and processes to translate user needs into stories and technical tasks.
• Drive efficient breakdowns of work, ensuring non-functional requirements like security and performance are well considered.
• Partner with the Engineering Lead and other teams to enhance ways of working across the lab by proposing and testing innovative approaches.

• Strong expertise in Object-Oriented Design and back-end development with deep knowledge of Java.
• Solid understanding of software fundamentals such as threading, memory management, debugging, and clean coding practices.
• Proven ability to drive technical delivery and communicate effectively, promote agile ways of working, and mentor others.
• Experience in application and solution design, focusing on managing technical debt and delivering high-quality engineering outcomes.
• Comfort in both technical and business conversations, with a delivery-focused mindset.

• Experience with Test-Driven Development and test automation
• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design
• Knowledge of Microservices, Spring Boot, REST, Apache Kafka
• Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes for containerized development and deployment
• Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform
