Software Engineer – National Security

Location: Manchester – hybrid and flexible working arrangements available.
Employment type: Full‑time.

The National Security business in Manchester is growing, offering opportunities to work with a range of National Security clients and deliver solutions with real impact. You’ll be part of a team that delivers for clients and also gives back through community engagement and outreach activities to build tech and cyber skills in the region.

• Design, code, test, correct, and document simple programs and assist with implementation of software that forms part of a properly engineered information or communications system.
• Provide accurate estimates of development effort needed to design, code and test software from given specifications.
• Logically analyse code defects and produce timely code fixes.

• A solid understanding of any of the following programming languages:
  Java, JavaScript, React, Node.js, Python, C++.
• The desire to solve complex technical problems and help our customers achieve their goals.
• As a learner who is eager to grow new skills and better yourself where possible.
• Knowledge of cloud engineering such as AWS, Docker, microservices is desirable but not essential.
• The ability to work as part of a team, share knowledge and be involved with our Agile ways of working.
