An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Safeguarding Unit for the post of a full-time Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO).
Working hours:
36 hours per week
Contract type:
Permanent
Salary: £50,269 - £53,460

Now is a very exciting time to join Children’s Services in Salford. We want children growing up in Salford to see and say that their city, community, and services are great, a fact recognised in our last Ofsted report which rates our overall services as ‘good’.
The post holder will carry a caseload that meets the specifications recommended in the IRO handbook and will be expected to be proactive in their responsibilities towards ensuring the best outcomes for the children and young people in Salford that they are responsible for.
Responsibilities- Carry a caseload that meets IRO handbook specifications.
- Be proactive in ensuring the best outcomes for children and young people in Salford.
- Work collaboratively with safeguarding teams and stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement of safeguarding practice.
- Social work qualified.
- Demonstrated substantial experience in work with children and families, including looked‑after children, care proceedings and child protection.
- Experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Strong commitment to safeguarding and continuous professional development.
