Aviation Security Officer – Security & Customer Services

Pay
: £14.95 per hour inclusive of 22.5% shift allowance.

Hours
:
Permanent, Full‑time, 38 h per week (annualised).

Full training provided – no prior security experience required.

The role involves standing, bending, walking and manual handling, with a focus on protecting passengers, colleagues and airport operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct hand searches of cabin luggage, passengers and staff.
  • Carry out body searches (pat‑downs).
  • Operate advanced security equipment such as X‑ray machines and body scanners.
  • Patrol terminals and wider airport premises.

  • Greet and assist guests to ensure excellent service.
Pre‑employment Checks
  • Criminal record check.
  • Five‑year employment history.
  • Counter‑terrorism check – applicants must have lived in the UK for the past three years.
  • Face‑to‑face medical assessment.
How Annualised Hours Work

Average of 38 h per week on an annualised contract. Hours may increase during busy periods (up to 52 h per week) or decrease during quieter periods, but your salary remains fixed at 38 h per week. Full flexibility is required for a 24/7 operation, including night shifts, early starts from 03:00, late shifts, weekends, bank holidays, and both short‑haul and long‑haul patterns.
