Research Associate in High Voltage Gas Insulation

Applications are invited from experts in high-voltage test systems and high-voltage engineering to join the University of Manchester. This post offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic researcher to build on their existing research skills by being part of a transformative research project on how climate-friendly insulating gases are assessed, selected, designed and demonstrated in high-voltage applications.

This full‑time post is available as soon as possible and is fixed‑term for 24 months. The appointed post holder will be responsible to Dr Lujia (Tony) Chen and will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of research activities related to sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) and its alternatives, as well as the development of high‑current high‑voltage circuits.
