Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 (dependent on experience, flexibility for the right candidate)

An established and growing environmental consultancy is looking to appoint a BNG Consultant to join a dedicated Biodiversity Net Gain team. This role would suit either an early‑career ecologist with hands‑on BNG exposure who wants to specialise further, or an individual already working within a BNG‑focused role looking to deepen their technical expertise.
You will join a collaborative team of BNG specialists, supporting the delivery of Biodiversity Net Gain assessments across a range of development projects, with clear scope for progression as the service line continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting the delivery of Biodiversity Net Gain assessments in line with current legislation and best practice
- Assisting with habitat condition assessments, baseline calculations and BNG metric inputs
- Contributing to BNG reports, technical notes and supporting documentation
- Liaising with internal teams, planners and external stakeholders where required
- Undertaking site visits as part of project delivery
- Developing technical capability with the aim of progressing into a specialist BNG role
- 1-2 years' experience in ecology or environmental consultancy with exposure to BNG work
- Current experience working in a Biodiversity Net Gain‑focused role
- Understanding of Biodiversity Net Gain principles and the BNG Metric
- Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline
- Full UK driving licence or ability to attend site visits
- Keen interest in specialising within Biodiversity Net Gain
- 24 days' holiday plus bank holidays, rising to 30 days with long service
