Freight Account Executive

A growing logistics business is seeking a proactive Freight Account Executive to join its Manchester branch. This is a key, client‑facing role focused on managing important customer accounts, delivering outstanding service, and ensuring smooth end‑to‑end logistics operations. You'll work closely with senior branch leadership in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment where your expertise and relationship‑building skills will make a real impact.

The Role

As the main point of contact for assigned client accounts, you will oversee shipments from quotation through to delivery, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and clear communication at every stage. This position suits someone who thrives on problem‑solving, enjoys building strong client relationships, and understands the pace of freight forwarding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary contact for key client accounts
  • Manage end-to-end logistics services including quoting, tracking, and issue resolution
  • Coordinate with internal teams (operations, warehousing, transport, customs)
  • Monitor service levels and client KPIs
  • Provide proactive updates on shipment status, delays, or changes
  • Handle enquiries, complaints, and escalations professionally
  • Build and maintain long‑term customer relationships
  • Identify opportunities to enhance service quality and efficiency
  • Support onboarding of new clients
  • Assist with client meetings, site visits, and regular communication

  • Transport Management Systems (TMS)
  • Quotation tools and freight portals
