Optical Assistant (Team Lead) to join our Pop Specs store in Victoria Centre, Nottingham.

About the Role

You’ll deliver an exceptional Pop Specs experience, support customers with frame and lens choices, and ensure every pair meets our standards for comfort, accuracy, and style.

Responsibilities Customer Service
  • Provide warm, knowledgeable support
  • Help customers choose frames and lenses suited to their needs
  • Take accurate measurements for perfect fit
  • Handle adjustments, returns, exchanges, and aftercare
  • Educate customers on eyewear care
  • Create a welcoming environment that builds loyalty
Technical Responsibilities
  • Advise on lens types, materials, coatings, and tints
  • Perform fittings, adjustments, and minor repairs
  • Maintain and calibrate equipment
  • Support with edging, glazing, and fitting when needed
Administrative Duties
  • Maintain accurate records and orders
  • Process payments
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Stay updated on new products and services
  • Manage calls, emails, and workspace organisation
Qualifications & Skills Experience
  • Optical Assistant or Manager experience essential
  • Knowledge of optical equipment/software beneficial
  • Valid dispensing optician licence or certification required
Skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail
  • Ability to work accurately in a fast‑paced environment
  • Knowledge of lenses, frames, and optical products
