Quality Manager responsibilities include:
* Motivate, coach and develop the QA team, and surrounding departments to achieve the business objectives on a day-to-day basis whilst achieving individual and departmental KPI’s.
* Positively support Technical relations and successfully influence food safety/quality delivery within Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Purchasing, and NPD.
* Provide an effective and timely resolve to all technical issues, including quality and food safety problems seeking permanent solutions to the key issues
* Delivery of the company’s external customer and third-party approval, its food safety/quality systems, hygiene standards and due diligence defences.
* Product safety management:
Ensuring robust delivery and verification of controls around ingredient sourcing/handling, cooking and cooling methodology, QCPs, metal detecting, labelling and date coding, nutritional and micro standards
* Ensure timely monitoring, improvement and management including trend analysis of customer & consumer complaints, supplier complaints, complaints costs, adherence to customer expectations, NC Reporting, audit findings etc.
* Ensure delivery of technical contracts, including the micro and chemical laboratories, Pest control service, laundry, calibration and monitoring services, Technical memberships etc.
* Ensure appropriate levels of factory compliance auditing:
Such as regular GMPs, G&HP, and internal audit programmes; whilst influencing others to ensure a continuous improvement of technical culture throughout all departments.
* Timely closure of all NCNs raised, whether from internal audits, customer visits, or 3rd party audits.
* Health, Safety and Environment:
Ensure that you and any staff under your control, adhere to all policies and procedures at all times, and stop any occasions of unsafe practice.
* Staff training & development plans to be in place, including succession planning. Development of your teams through the method of regular 121s and Performance Development Plans
* Driving force behind all relevant Technical KPIs of food safety and quality, including micro standards, complaints, GMP and food safety culture
* Leading Food Safety/HACCP:
To ensure the defined process CCPs & QCPs are appropriately risk assessed, defined, and strictly adhered to in all aspects of the company’s HACCP system and factory operations
* Delivery of Customer visits, launches and Audits, ensuring top scores and minimal non conformity or on time launches; whilst ensuring that you and your team are able to competently demonstrate their role/responsibilities to an auditor/visitor.
* Driving positive employee engagement and supporting general culture improvements by effective communication, and promoting trust and respect of all colleagues
* Management of Employee Relations: around turnover, attendance, punctuality, code and conduct, procedural compliance
