Please note that this post is offered as a permanent contract at 37.5 h/week.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Research and Innovation Division at The Christie. We are looking to appoint a Senior Clinical Research Nurse to the Experimental Cancer Medicine Team (ECMT) within The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. This is a 12 month maternity leave cover, fixed term post.

This post presents an opportunity to join an established research team with a varied portfolio of clinical trials as a Senior Clinical Research Nurse (sCRN). ECMT are responsible for a varied portfolio of early phase clinical trials.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the patient’s pathway through an agreed portfolio of clinical trials across ECMT.
  • Establish excellent communications in all forms for difficult clinical conversations with patients and their families.
  • Lead and manage staff; demonstrate experience of line management and leadership.
  • Serve as key contact for patients and the wider MDT being considered for early phase clinical trials across multiple disease groups.
  • Assess and manage the complex needs of patients participating in a clinical trial.
  • Manage staff and drive service improvement.
Qualifications / Experience
  • Experience in Oncology and Research is essential.
  • Experience in leadership and flexibility in working; ability to work independently.
  • Background in oncology and research, with leadership experience.
  • Interdisciplinary interaction with staff across The Christie and partner networks (e.g., NIHR Manchester Clinical Research Facility).
  • Proactive approach to self-development and ability to contribute to team development and training programmes.
