Join to apply for the Infant Feeding Health Visitor role at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust

We are looking to recruit to the role of Infant Feeding Health Visitor to work as part of the Infant Feeding Team in Manchester.

This is an exciting opportunity to consolidate your skills and knowledge around infant feeding. The role involves supporting the city wide Health Visiting service, GP’s, Paediatricians, and tertiary services as well as families of infants with complex or ongoing feeding challenges.

Working as part of a multi‑agency team which includes support workers, midwives, and dietitians to provide a holistic model of care for infants in Manchester. An excellent understanding of breastfeeding, as well as formula and bottle feeding issues will underpin your practice moving forward.

There will be the opportunity to further develop your skills in this field and advanced study in relation to prescribing will be considered for the right candidate.

The team works to Baby Friendly Best practice standards and works to ensure there is no formula industry interference in the service offer.

Main duties include daily triage, allocation, and caseload management. Providing care via a range of media including video conferencing, home visits and specialised clinics.

You will be expected to work independently whilst ensuring a team approach for appropriate management.

Coordinating packages of care across agencies and disciplines including review of existing feeding and care plans. Overview of prescribing requirements and ensuring the client is on the correct care pathway.

Delivering training to a range of stakeholders. Conducting clinical audit to ensure quality care standards remain in place. You will receive and be part of regular clinical supervision sessions.

You will be involved in developing clinical pathways and policy review. You will conduct skill reviews with colleagues across the service to ensure quality standards are maintained.

You will be required to provide support to student Health Visitors and other members of the team to ensure others are up-skilled in the field.

The role requires the candidate to have exceptional organisational skills to navigate systems that support practice delivery.
