Salford Pride is a volunteer-led organisation committed to celebrating, supporting, and advocating for LGBTQ+ communities across Salford. Through events, campaigns, and community projects, we work to promote equality, visibility, and inclusion.
The Role
Salford Pride is seeking a passionate and reliable Voluntary Social Media Assistant to support our Head of Marketing & Brand
. This role is ideal for someone looking to build experience in digital marketing, social media management, and LGBTQ+ community work. You will help manage our social media platforms, encourage engagement, promote events and campaigns, and support content creation using tools such as Canva and scheduling software.
- Support the Head of Marketing & Brand with the day-to-day management of Salford Pride’s social media platforms
- Schedule and publish content across all Salford Pride social media accounts using scheduling tools
- Encourage engagement and grow followers by interacting with relevant content and sharing posts from partners and supporters
- Create and suggest ideas for Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok stories to promote events, campaigns, and projects
- Assist with responding to messages and comments, directing enquiries to the appropriate team or team members
- Monitor social media channels and, under guidance, intervene to remove or report inappropriate content
- Support the creation of online campaigns, including video content to promote Salford Pride projects and key LGBTQ+ awareness dates
- Work collaboratively with the Design Assistant and Content & Media Assistant to develop artwork and campaign content
- Be open to feedback and ensure all content and designs are approved by the team prior to publication
- Support the updating and maintenance of the Salford Pride website to ensure information is accurate, informative, and up to date
- A genuine interest in social media, digital marketing, or communications
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Confidence using social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok
- Willingness to attend two in-person meetings per month in Salford
- Familiarity with social media scheduling software such as Buffer
- Basic experience creating short-form video content
- Interest in LGBTQ+ issues and community-led organisations
