A leading omnichannel retailer is seeking a Head of Performance Marketing to own the strategy and execution of all paid digital channels, driving profitable customer acquisition, retention and revenue growth across the UK and key international markets. This role will lead a large in-house team and agency partners to deliver best-in-class performance campaigns that grow sales while customer lifetime value.
Key responsibilities- Define and own the performance marketing strategy across paid search, paid social, display, shopping, affiliates and remarketing to deliver ambitious growth and ROAS targets.
- Plan, activate and optimise always-on and campaign activity, using data and experimentation (A/B testing, incrementality) to improve conversion rate, CPA and customer lifetime value.
- Manage performance marketing budgets, forecasting and investment decisions, ensuring spend is allocated efficiently across channels, audiences and campaigns.
- Oversee agency and platform relationships (e.g. Google Ads, Meta, affiliate networks), setting clear KPIs, briefs and performance expectations.
- Partner closely with Ecommerce, Trading, CRM and Brand to align activity with category priorities, promotions, product drops and customer journeys across web and app.
- Champion robust measurement, including attribution, tracking, testing and reporting, providing clear insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Lead, coach and develop the performance marketing team, building capability in channel ownership, optimisation and analytics.
- Proven experience in a senior performance marketing role within a retailer, ecommerce or consumer brand, with ownership of multi-million-pound budgets.
- Deep hands‑on knowledge of key platforms (e.g. Google Ads, Shopping, Google Analytics, Meta Ads Manager), and confidence working with data to make decisions
- Strong track record of driving growth through paid channels, improving ROAS and reducing CAC while maintaining brand standards.
- Experience managing agencies and/or in-house specialists, with the ability to challenge, inspire and raise performance.
- Commercial mindset, comfortable building business cases, forecasts and clear performance narratives for senior leadership.
- Collaborative leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced trading environment.
