Job DescriptionPackager – Manchester, Full Time, posted 30+ days ago (Requisition ). The role involves assembling cardboard boxes and crates or preparing returnable containers for parts, packaging items per part number, count, and special instructions, and ensuring accurate records and labeling. Packages are placed onto pallets as required and the position supports customer‑specific packaging requirements.
Responsibilities- Assemble cardboard boxes and crates or select and prepare returnable containers as required for parts to be packaged.
- Package parts according to part number, count, and any special instructions according to the part number and packaging work order.
- Verify and keep records of parts packaged, going to the warehouse (finished goods).
- Make and affix labels and any other identifying information required on packaged containers.
- Place packaged parts onto pallets according to requirements and/or fill pallets to proper amounts by container size.
- Be available to work shift overtime as assigned per customer requirements.
- Pay attention to details related to customer‑specific requirements.
- Inspect materials, products, and containers at each step of the packaging process.
- Stop production if related quality or machine issues arise and notify the onsite supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following 5S, safety, and environmental standards.
- Support safety functions by actively participating in safety training, safety meetings, and following safety protocols.
- Ensure quality of parts produced per operator instructions.
- Understand and follow IATF 16949 and/or ISO 14001 procedures.
- Support continual improvement initiatives and look for continuous improvement ideas.
- Support and exemplify corporate values and commitment to quality, optimism, ownership, teamwork, and communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience in packaging or manufacturing environments is preferred. Ability to follow detailed work instructions, maintain accuracy, and uphold safety standards is essential.
