Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a production quality controller to join our technical team. Smithfield Murray Ltd are a manufacturing organisation with a site based in Trafford Park, with over 20 years experience in the food business and specialise in the production of various poultry products for UK retail as well as food service in our state-of-the-art factory. You will work within the factory supporting the technical team, ensuring compliance with company procedures and producing high-quality products.
PersonalSpecification
- The hours of work are 06:30-16:30 Monday-Friday, with intake on a rota-based system. There is also a shift from 05:00-15:00 which is mandatory.
- Must be able to work in a chilled environment (temperatures around 10°C and 0-4°C in the chiller intake area).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with staff from all departments.
- Must be a good team player with good attention to detail.
- Identify any non-conforming products and agree corrective actions with internal functions.
- Perform regular online checks such as quality, weights, temperatures, etc., to ensure product compliance vs. specification.
- Ensure labelling adheres to correct dates and specifications.
- Ensure all tasks are carried out to the correct standard and specification.
- Metal detector checks.
- Ensure temperature checks are complete.
- Conduct daily, weekly and monthly checks (GMP, glass audits, fabrication, hygiene, etc.).
- Environmental swabbing and sample collection.
- Ensure good manufacturing practices, food safety, quality and health and safety are maintained at all times.
- Work towards zero complaints attributable to the team with a "Right first time" policy for the production process.
- Inspect incoming raw material according to intake procedures and document findings.
- Work with the team on continuous improvement tasks.
- Any additional tasks as required due to business requirements.
- This is a full-time permanent position; the pay range starts at £12.87-£13.07 per hour.
- Pay rises available as different skill levels are reached by assessments.
- Weekly pay and a £100 per month attendance bonus.
