Trafford Leisure have an exciting opportunity for a Duty Manager (Maternity Cover) to join our team.
Hours: 39 hours per week – this role includes a mix of early mornings, evenings, and weekend shifts
Salary: £14.80 per hour
Contract Type: Maternity Cover (11 months)
Start Date: WC 4th May 2026

The Role of Duty Manager:
Our Duty Managers are at the heart of our centres, leading shifts to support the team in delivering programmes and activities while ensuring excellent standards and service.
You will spend your time supporting and developing your team, helping them reach their potential and ensuring they are confident and effective in their roles.
Working alongside your management team, you will use your experience and knowledge to ensure that Trafford Leisure and your centre are continuously improving.
This is a hands‑on operational role, involving regular presence across all areas of the centre including reception, poolside, gym, and studios. You’ll work closely with the General Manager to deliver Trafford Leisure’s vision, purpose, and strategic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities of a Duty Manager:
- Overseeing the day‑to‑day operation of the centre, supporting and developing all programme and activity areas.
- Driving forward the standards of Trafford Leisure, ensuring customers receive excellent service.
- Leading, coaching, and developing the Senior/Leisure Attendant team.
- Supporting the General Manager with key performance information, using data to identify improvements and opportunities.
- Ensuring a safe, efficient, and customer‑focused environment at all times.
- Participating in a shift rotation, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
To be successful in the role of Duty Manager, you must have:
- A recognised qualification in Leisure Management, Sports Development, or a related subject.
- National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) and First Aid at Work.
- Experience as a Key Holder within a leisure, sporting, or similar customer‑facing environment.
- Experience managing or supervising an operational team.
- Strong communication skills, confidence in decision‑making, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A passion for creating a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment for customers and colleagues.
