We’re hiring a Senior Manager to lead our Year End function.
This is not a stepping-stone role. We are looking for someone who has already managed people in practice and is ready to take ownership of a team, workflow and standards.
You will report directly to the Directors and have ownership of the team from day one.
Services provided by the team- Company Accounts – FRS 105 and 102(1A)
- Company CT600
- Partnership Accounts
- Sole-trader accounts
- Self-Assessments
- Confirmation statements
You will lead a team of 6 junior accountants within a wider structure of 2 managers.
You will be responsible for:
- Reviewing year-end accounts and returns, business and personal
- Managing team performance, quality and capacity
- Overseeing the onboarding of new clients by the team into the year-end function
- Ensuring tasks are met to our internal deadlines
- Ensuring monthly financial targets are met
- Maintaining technical standards across the team
- Ensuring the team meet their training requirements
- Improving systems and workflow optimisation
- Acting as escalation point for complex technical and client matters
- Being a role model for the junior members of the team
- Reporting to the board each month
This is a leadership role with accountability — not just technical sign-off.
What we are looking for- 5+ years’ practice experience
- Proven experience managing and developing junior staff
- Strong review experience across year end accounts and corporation tax
- Ability to manage workflow, prioritisation and team capacity
- Comfortable holding performance conversations and raising standards
- You have not previously line-managed a team in practice
- You prefer purely technical work without leadership responsibility
- You need supervision to prioritise work

£50,000–£60,000 depending on experience and leadership depth.
