Freelance Site Supervisor - HIGHWAYS

Overview

Your new company You will be joining a leading organisation delivering essential works across high‑speed roads and motorways.

The team is responsible for maintaining safe, compliant and efficient operations across a busy network, with a strong focus on drainage, lane closures and traffic‑managed environments.

As a Site Supervisor, you will oversee night‑shift operations across multiple sites between the Welsh border and South Lancashire.

• Supervising drainage works and general highways / plant activities
• Managing teams within lane closures and high‑speed motorway environments
• Ensuring full compliance with health & safety standards and site documentation
• Completing shift reports, near‑miss reporting and escalating issues appropriately
• Coordinating with internal and external contacts to resolve on‑site challenges
• Supporting planning, sequencing and safe delivery of works
• Promoting a professional, engaged and positive team culture

• SSSTS certification (essential)
• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience on highways projects
• Experience working on motorways, including lane closures and traffic‑managed areas
• Strong understanding of drainage works
• Confident managing teams and enforcing safety standards
• Ability to work nights (6pm‑6am) with flexibility across a 5/7 pattern
• Full UK driving licence
• Professional, proactive and able to communicate clearly under pressure
