ResponsibilitiesAs Assistant Director for Economic Development and Regeneration, you will lead the delivery of the Council and Vision Partnership priorities for growth and investment. You will drive flagship schemes such as the £200m mixed‑use redevelopment of Crompton Place in our town centre, a residential, hotel and commercial scheme at Church Wharf, investment in strategic employment hubs such as Logistics North and Wingates, and progress the ambitious Wigan‑Bolton growth location (Northfold).
You will work to establish a Mayoral Development Corporation for Bolton Town Centre in collaboration with the Combined Authority. You will lead our economic development team with a focus on supporting the growth and development of existing and new businesses, promoting Bolton to investors, advancing our Economic Growth & Resilience Plan and ensuring that local people are able to access support to gain skills, qualifications and work experience to secure sustainable employment.
A strategic delivery‑focused leader with a proven track record, you will bring commercial insight, programme management experience and a background in shaping investment pipelines, spatial planning and infrastructure. Skilled at building partnerships across public and private sectors, you will be politically astute, collaborative and credible with senior stakeholders. We are looking for an inclusive leader with an evidence‑led and delivery‑focused approach to decision‑making, and a clear commitment to securing community benefit, unlocking homes, jobs and skills across Bolton.
