Jetting Assistant

About The Role

Due to company growth, we are looking to appoint a Drainage Assistant to join our Eccles Depot. Working as part of a two‑person team, you will be responsible for attending drainage‑related issues such as blockages, pipe clearing, cleansing and reactive call‑outs.

  Monday to Friday – 40 hours per week
• Salary: up to £13.50 per hour depending on experience

• Operate machinery
• Ensure all H&S requirements are followed
• Communicate with customers about scheduled works and address any concerns
• Assist in identifying drainage issues, including blockages, structural, and root ingress
• Operate high‑pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear drains, sewers, and pipework
• Remove waste materials and prevent build‑up in wastewater systems
• Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance to ensure readiness
• Support CCTV inspections to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers
• Assist in emergency response situations, including flooding and urgent drainage issues
• Learn to complete job sheets, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS) under supervision

• Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 penalty points)
• A strong interest in drainage, utilities, or civil engineering
• A practical, hands‑on approach and willingness to work outdoors in all conditions
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Basic computer skills and a desire to learn new software

Lanes Group will provide all training required for the role such as high‑pressure water jetting, confined space, spill response, etc.
