Patent Attorney

A highly regarded patent practice with a strong presence in the UK is seeking to appoint a Senior Patent Attorney specialising in Chemistry and Pharmaceuticals. Based in Manchester, this role offers the opportunity to join a well-established team advising on complex, high-value patent work for an impressive portfolio of UK and international clients.

This position would suit an experienced attorney looking for a role that offers high-quality work, long-term progression and the chance to take on a senior position within a collaborative and forward‑thinking practice. The role requires only one day per week in the office, supporting excellent work/life balance.

• Managing a complex portfolio of chemistry and pharmaceutical patent work
• Drafting and prosecuting UK, EP and international patent applications
• Advising on patentability, infringement and freedom‑to‑operate matters
• Supporting contentious matters and opposition proceedings where required
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships
• Mentoring and supporting junior attorneys within the team
• Contributing to business development and practice growth

• Qualified UK and/or European Patent Attorney
• Strong technical background in Chemistry, Pharmaceuticals or a related discipline
• Significant post‑qualification experience within private practice or in‑house
• Confident handling complex matters and advising clients independently
• Commercial, pragmatic approach with strong communication skills
