The successful candidate will work alongside a team of Client Managers looking after an established and varied portfolio of large mid‑market corporate clients throughout the UK. This role will offer plenty of opportunities to nurture and grow existing client relationships while also supporting the team in successfully winning new clients.

What the day will look like
  • The role is within our large and mid‑market commercial risk team and provides risk solutions to businesses across many sectors within the UK. Clients are typically national or multinational companies seeking a tailored relationship with their broker.
  • Clients require bespoke insurance programmes and associated risk‑management and risk‑transfer services. Besides being the insurance broker, the Commercial Risk team provides claims services and risk‑management advice, with specialisms in manufacturing, waste, construction, food and drink, retail and wholesale.
  • The successful candidate will liaise with the client management team to fully understand the client’s business and insurance requirements, contributing to the formulation of their Service Plan. You will attend internal client meetings and external client visits, including pre‑renewal and renewal meetings, and support insurer surveys.
  • Identify potential improvements in client risk and insurance programme design, recommend changes to the Client Manager, and implement approved changes for clients when required.
  • Day‑to‑day client contact, negotiate renewal terms, mid‑term adjustments and cover extensions. Undertake negotiations with insurers as agreed, marketing and negotiating terms with Aon facilities to achieve optimum solutions for the client.
  • Prepare comprehensive marketing presentations and renewal reports, and work closely with the Broking Managers to prepare full cover comparisons.
  • Establish and develop effective working relationships with insurers and differentiate with clients through the cover, service and industry knowledge a specific insurer can deliver.
  • Provide ongoing communication with the client following queries or alterations and keep the Client Manager informed of developments.
  • Issue documentation to clients, communicate settlement terms, ensure premiums are debited and maintain credit control standards.
  • Represent Aon professionally, demonstrating an understanding of corporate objectives and continually improving personal knowledge through appropriate training.
  • Align with regulatory and other standards, working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework and compliance with Aon policies, including mandatory training.
