Azure Cloud Engineer

Location: Manchester (Hybrid)

Contract: Full-Time | Permanent

Salary: up to 53k

We are seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer with strong experience in cloud-based web hosting and migration projects. You will be responsible for designing, deploying, and optimising Azure hosting environments while leading the migration of legacy platforms into modern, scalable Azure services. This role involves close collaboration with architects, developers, and project teams to ensure smooth, reliable transitions.

• Design and implement Azure-based web hosting environments
• Lead end-to-end website and application migration projects
• Manage and optimise Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, VMs, and storage services
• Build automated deployment pipelines using Azure Dev Ops, ARM/Bicep, or Terraform
• Monitor, secure, and fine-tune cloud-hosted web platforms
• Serve as an SME for Azure migrations and cloud best practices

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, particularly in hosting workloads
• Proven background in web hosting and cloud migration projects
• Good understanding of networking, DNS, load balancing, CDN, and security principles
• CI/CD experience with Azure Dev Ops or similar tools
• Familiarity with both Windows and Linux environments
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Experience migrating from on‑prem or legacy hosting environments
• Containerisation knowledge (Docker, AKS)
• Scripting skills in Power Shell, Bash, or Python
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM)
