Job Description & How to Apply Below

Ready to shape the future of data?

Matillion is the intelligent data integration platform.

We're changing how the world works with data – and we need driven, curious people who think big and move fast.

We built the Data Productivity Cloud to supercharge data productivity, and now we’re shaping the future of data engineering with Maia – our AI-powered virtual data engineers that help teams design, build, and manage data pipelines at unmatched speed.

Join #Team Green, where the mission comes first, collaboration drives us forward, and everyone pulls in the same direction to make a dent in the universe bigger than ourselves.

About the role

AI is everywhere, but most companies are drowning in experiments that go nowhere. At Matillion, we're embedding AI into how we work, scale, and win. We need someone tenacious and strategic to turn our AI ambition into reality—not just for one team, but for the entire business.

You'll be the central nervous system for Matillion's internal AI evolution, bridging the gap between high-level ambition and practical, secure execution. Reporting to the CISO, you'll ensure AI initiatives deliver scalable, governed, high-ROI systems that demonstrably increase our organizational velocity. You own the  Why,  the  When,  and the  So What  of our internal AI roadmap.

This role is hybrid to our Manchester office. We value collaboration and believe the best work happens when we're together—so we ask for a minimum of 2 days per week in the office. This isn't just about attendance; it's about building relationships, solving problems faster, and creating the culture that makes Matillion special.

What you will be doing
  • Define and maintain the internal AI roadmap, prioritising high-impact, low-risk automations that drive measurable business outcomes
  • Lead cross-functional AI initiatives across the business, ensuring alignment with architectural standards, security governance, and ROI targets
  • Drive the cultural shift to an  AI-First  mindset—developing training programs, managing change, and reducing  AI anxiety  across non-technical teams
  • Define and report KPIs such as  Hours Reclaimed,   Process Velocity,  and  Cost per Automation,  delivering quarterly impact reports to the executive team
  • Act as the bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating AI complexity into actionable strategy and holding teams accountable for delivery
What we are looking for
  • Demonstrable experience in Programme Management or PMO roles within high-growth SaaS environments, with a track record of delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives
  • Understanding of LLMs, API integrations, and RAG architectures—you don't need to code, but you must challenge timelines and technical approaches and be able to have technical discussions
  • Tenacious delivery mindset: you prefer  deployed and iterative  over  perfect and delayed,  and you hold yourself and others accountable for results
  • Strategic thinker who can operate across the entire business, influencing senior stakeholders and driving adoption without direct authority
  • Empathetic leader who can move teams away from legacy manual processes, building trust and driving change through influence, not force

At Matillion, we are committed to providing competitive salaries in line with market standards. Our estimated compensation range for this position is £77,600 - £116,400, but the final salary will be based on your relevant skills, experience and qualifications demonstrated in the hiring process.

At Matillion, we’re here to do something hard - change the way the world works with data, and build a great company along the way. Big, bold goals aren’t for the faint-hearted, and we don’t shy away from them. But we don’t do it alone. No egos, no politics - just great people working together, guided by our six core values;

  • Confidence without arrogance
  • Working with integrity
  • Customer obsessed
  • Innovate and demand quality
  • Bias for action
  • We care

We operate a flexible working culture that promotes work-life balance, with benefits including:

  • Company Equity
  • 30 days holiday + bank holidays
  • 5 days paid volunteering leave
  • Health insurance
  • Life Insurance
  • Pension
  • Access to mental health support
