Senior DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Dev Ops Engineer to join our team in Manchester. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on technical delivery and wants to take ownership of designing and operating modern microservices platforms.

You will partner with enterprise clients to deliver scalable, automated, and production-ready platforms built on AWS or Azure with Kubernetes, Infrastructure-as-Code, and Git Ops at the core. This is not a people management role – it’s about technical depth, customer delivery, and engineering excellence.

• Design, build, and operate microservices platforms on AWS or Azure using Kubernetes (EKS/AKS).
• Automate provisioning, deployments, and pipelines with Terraform, Helm, and CI/CD tools.
• Lead technical delivery for customer projects, from discovery through to production go‑live.
• Migrate and scale services into microservices-based platforms with resilience and observability in mind.
• Implement Git Ops workflows (e.g. Argo CD, Flux) to ensure automation and consistency.
• Produce high-quality documentation, runbooks, and reusable modules to accelerate delivery.
• Act as a senior technical authority, raising engineering standards and mentoring by example.

• Proven expertise in microservices design, deployment, and operations.
• Strong AWS or Azure cloud engineering background with Terraform/IaC.
• Linux administration and scripting (Bash/Power Shell; Python desirable)
• Git Ops experience with Argo CD or Flux.
• CI/CD pipeline development and automation.
• Customer‑facing delivery experience, with strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Track record of delivering service migrations and platform go‑lives into production.
• Relevant certifications (AWS/Azure Associate, CKA, or similar)

• Helm chart authoring and ArgoCD.

• Experience with Internal Developer Platforms (e.g. Backstage).
• Multi‑cloud exposure and/or Python development for tooling.

• First 90 days: onboard, deliver a quick win (e.g. pipeline, service deployment, or migration), and establish credibility with customers.
• By 180 days: lead a successful migration or go‑live, deliver measurable improvements in scalability and efficiency, and be recognised as a trusted authority in microservices delivery.
