Role Purpose
Security Operations Center Analyst – Join the NCC Group’s UK‑based SOC to monitor and respond to security events 24/7, 365 days a year. Our team of over 30 accredited experts manages more than 200 million log events daily, supporting thousands of network devices and helping clients achieve proactive threat detection, incident prevention and timely escalation.
Responsibilities- Monitor global IDS, network intruder detection, firewall, DDoS mitigation, availability and SIEM platforms, looking for potential threats, vulnerabilities and indicators of compromise.
- Provide incident remediation and prevention documentation and recommendations to customers, following defined procedures and analyst experience.
- Document and comply with processes related to security monitoring procedures.
- Deliver customer service that exceeds customer expectations at all times.
- Initiate escalation procedures to counteract potential threats, vulnerabilities and threat actors.
- Compile and review service‑focused reporting.
- Act as an escalation point for junior team members, providing assistance and mentorship where necessary.
- Assist Senior SOC Analysts on threat‑hunting engagements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of SOC procedures and documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Practical knowledge of security and networking toolsets such as SIEM, IDS, vulnerability management, availability monitoring, packet capture and other threat detection technologies.
- In‑depth knowledge of common network protocols.
- In‑depth knowledge of Windows and Linux based operating systems.
- Experience with extensive analysis of common security incidents.
- Ability to remain calm in highly sensitive and high‑pressure incidents.
- Experience with Log Rhythm, Arc Sight or Splunk is desirable but not required.
- CREST CPSA / CRIA / CMRE
- CNCIA / CHIACom
- PCTI Security+ / Network+
- Degree in a related field; other relevant certifications welcomed.
