About this opportunity

The Chief Security Office (CSO) is a vital part of delivering the Group's vision of putting customers at the heart of everything we do, helping Britain prosper and protecting the Group and customers from security threats. We’re responsible for defining and communicating Lloyds Banking Group's security strategy and providing a range of critical Enterprise Security Services which not only operate key controls that keep the Group safe but also enable the digital transformation agenda of the wider organisation.

What

will I do?
  • You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining a deep understanding of the security capability and technology landscape across Lloyds Banking Group.
  • Your expertise will be central to our strategy of simplifying, consolidating, and modernising the Group’s technology environment to deliver maximum value for our customers.
  • This position is critical to safeguarding the long-term sustainability and integrity of the organisation, ensuring our security foundations remain robust and future‑ready.
  • Play a key role in crafting and implementing our security technologies.
  • You’ll work with product owners, engineering leads, enterprise architects, and senior customers to help build the security technology direction.
  • You’ll perform technical product assessments to ensure the tooling meets its purpose.
  • Use industry frameworks, standards, and policies to develop opportunities and value for customers, supporting their needs.
  • Interact with customers at all levels and connect with vendors to understand roadmaps, identifying chances for technology improvements, consolidation, and simplification.
What you’ll need
  • Passionate about acquiring insights and applying them to build customer and business value.
  • Security experience, spanning multi‑disciplinary product, feature, or platform teams across at least two security domains.
  • Hands‑on implementation and operational expertise in IT, Cloud, and / or Cyber technologies.
  • Demonstrable ability to compare technologies and provide analysis to identify best‑fit capabilities for evolving business needs.
  • Previous experience in a Security Build or Consultancy role is desirable.
  • Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to use data to explain complex concepts in an accessible and compelling way.
  • Ability to distil sophisticated information into clear, succinct written and oral presentations that influence collaborators with limited technical knowledge and guide their thinking on technology’s potential.
