Senior Delivery Manager

Overview

This is a flexible, hybrid role and can be based from either of our offices in Peterborough, Manchester or Stoke. We also have largely remote options available.

As a Senior Delivery Manager, you will lead a portfolio of technology delivery initiatives across Markerstudy. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our delivery teams are focused on the right priorities, performing at their best, and consistently delivering value to the business. Working closely with the Lead Delivery Manager, PMO and senior stakeholders, you’ll drive delivery excellence, support scaled delivery, and foster a culture of openness, collaboration and continuous improvement.

This role sits within our IT Delivery team.

• Oversee a portfolio of technology initiatives aligned to strategic and business priorities
• Plan, sequence and schedule delivery work based on priority, capacity and dependencies
• Track progress against portfolio roadmaps, proactively identifying risks and opportunities
• Ensure consistent adoption of delivery best practice across teams
• Lead, coach and support Delivery Managers and Agile squads
• Promote self-organisation, collaboration and continuous improvement
• Track and analyse key delivery performance metrics
• Consolidate and present portfolio-level reporting for senior stakeholders
• Build strong relationships and ensure transparency with stakeholders
• Manage resource and capability planning across squads
• Actively manage risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies
• Support cross-squad collaboration and alignment

• Proven delivery leadership experience (Delivery Manager, Agile Coach, Scrum Master), including line management of Delivery Managers
• Strong knowledge of Agile and Lean ways of working (Scrum, Kanban, XP)
• A track record of leading and coaching high-performing teams
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Experience in planning, forecasting and performance tracking
• Good understanding of software delivery and the SDLC
• Strong facilitation and influencing skills, with the ability to drive organisational change

• Experience managing scaled delivery across multiple teams or portfolios
• Experience contributing to strategic planning and decision making
• Agile certifications such as CSM or SAFe Agilist
