📍 Hybrid (Manchester 1 day / week, Remote 4 days / week)

Carma is a climate-action marketplace delivering verified environmental and social impact. Our platform offers Carbon Credits and Carbon Compensation (tree planting and kelp restoration), making it easy for individuals and businesses to take action.

We don’t just “post on social media.” We host tree planting days, run a digital marketplace, and channel every action into tangible outcomes — including direct support for UK service leavers and veterans through employment, training, and mental health funding.

We’re now looking for a pragmatic, high-velocity Type Script developer who doesn’t just code — you engineer solutions. You’ll be building modern web applications using React, and unlike traditional roles, we expect you to use AI tools .

You are the pilot. AI is your engine.

• Build & Ship
• Develop responsive, high-performance user interfaces using React.js and JavaScript.
• AI Integration
• Use AI coding assistants (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) to generate boilerplate, write tests, refactor, and debug more efficiently.
• API Integration
• Connect front-end components to RESTful APIs, handling data fetching, caching, and state management effectively.
• Quality Control
• Critically review AI-generated code. Spot hallucinations, inefficiencies, or security flaws before they hit production.
• Collaborate
• Work closely with team members across product and development.

• React & JavaScript / Typescript
• Solid grasp of Hooks, Functional Components, and managing application state.
• AI Fluency
• You’re comfortable with Git Hub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor — and know how to prompt effectively to get useful code.
• API Experience
• ident working with async logic (Promises / Async-Await), error handling, and structured data flows.
• Critical Thinking
• You know when to trust AI suggestions — and when to override them.

• .NET / C#
• Familiarity with the Microsoft stack. Even reading and lightly editing controllers is a bonus.
• Type Script
• Experience adding static typing to JavaScript projects.
