Intermediate UX Designer

Hippo is recruiting an intermediate consultant in UX design. You’ll bring strong UX design skills and experience advising others on user‑centred services. The role offers opportunities for professional growth and consultancy with clients.

UX designers ensure that people using a service can do what they need to do, when they need to do it, in a way that is easy for them. Working with user researchers, they identify users’ needs and use that information to inform design decisions. Champions of user‑centred design, they work with Agile team members to test and iterate designs, and advise clients on how to get the best from interaction design.

• Be part of Agile, multidisciplinary teams and work to a people‑centred design process
• Design end‑to‑end user journeys that create an optimal user experience
• Use insights from user research and metrics to identify pain points and improve design
• Produce user journey maps, sitemaps, navigation schemas, and annotated wireframes
• Support user researchers in usability testing
• Run workshops with your team and stakeholders
• Work with the Hippo design community to share best practice

• Knowledge and desire to investigate, innovate, and develop emerging design, UX, and technology trends
• Strong ability to recognise and predict use‑cases and user experience scenarios, including happy path, edge, and corner cases, and incorporate them into designs
• Excellent understanding of user‑experience design for mobile and web, tech trends, demonstrable design skills, and ability to showcase relevant work
• Experience with rapid prototyping tools such as Sketch and In Vision
• Great consultancy skills, caring about clients’ needs and motivations
• Ability to share your skills and experience with clients to enable them to continue iterating and improving content after you leave
