Some people with diabetes develop serious complications with their eyes, called diabetic retinopathy, which can lead to sight loss if untreated. The screening test can find eye problems before sight is affected. Pictures are taken of the back of the eyes to check for any changes.

- Identify any patients requiring urgent onward referral at the time of their screening appointment.
- Maintain sufficient stock of consumables to run your clinic.
