Overview

In your role as an Activities Co-ordinator at HC-One, Kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It touches upon every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. As an Activities Co-ordinator it will mean planning and implementing the kinds of activities that will delight our Residents. Not to mention helping the Home Manager to organise essential fundraising events. And, whether you're giving our Residents the confidence to socialise more effectively, working on a new activity idea based on Residents' hobbies, or getting the rest of the care home team involved - you'll do so with a sense of kindness above all else.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement activities that delight Residents.
  • Help the Home Manager to organise essential fundraising events.
  • Encourage Residents to socialise and engage with activities; develop new activity ideas based on Residents  hobbies; involve the care home team.
  • Maintain a kind, considerate approach in all communications with Residents and co-workers.
  • Support safeguarding responsibilities by recognising signs of abuse, harm or neglect and know what to do if concerns arise.
  • Attend safeguarding training appropriate to the role and undertake additional training as required.
Qualifications
  • Background working with vulnerable individuals; ideally experience developing activity programmes.
  • Strong planning, organisational and IT skills; good time management.
  • Positive energy and ability to get along with people.
  • Ability to communicate with Residents and co-workers with kindness and consideration.
  • Ability to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.
