We are partnered with a well-established diagnostics manufacturer with a strong footprint across clinical laboratories in the UK. The business is investing further in its commercial team and is now seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to own and grow strategic accounts across the North of the UK.

This role suits someone comfortable managing complex NHS relationships, driving both reagent and instrument revenue, and operating as a trusted partner to laboratory stakeholders.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing and developing a defined portfolio of hospital and reference laboratory accounts, driving sustainable growth through account planning, tender activity, and value-based selling.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing key NHS and pathology laboratory accounts across the North UK territory
  • Developing and executing strategic account plans aligned to regional and national objectives
  • Growing existing business while identifying and converting new opportunities within accounts
  • Leading tender activity, contract renewals, and pricing negotiations
  • Working cross-functionally with applications, service, and marketing teams to deliver high-quality customer support
  • Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders including laboratory managers, consultants, procurement, and trust leadership
  • Accurately forecasting revenue and maintaining CRM activity

The Ideal Profile

  • Proven experience in a Key Account Manager or Senior Sales role within diagnostics, IVD, or laboratory solutions
  • Strong understanding of NHS structures, procurement, and pathology laboratories
  • Track record of managing complex, long-term customer relationships
  • Commercially astute with experience navigating tenders and framework agreements
  • Confident communicator able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfortable managing a large geographic territory and working autonomously
