Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Support Worker role, primarily based in Blackburn, with service delivery across Lancashire and the North West of England.

The Support Worker will provide day-to-day practical and emotional support to individuals living in supported accommodation, helping them to achieve stability, independence, and personal goals. The role involves building trusting relationships with residents, offering structured support, and responding appropriately to presenting needs.

Key responsibilities
  • Supporting residents with daily living activities and routines
  • Providing emotional support and signposting to relevant services
  • Maintaining clear, professional communication with tenants
  • Implementing and adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Working closely with the housing management team
  • Reporting maintenance issues and property concerns promptly
  • Supporting resident safety, wellbeing, and engagement

The role requires flexibility, professionalism, and a compassionate approach, with shifts that may include evenings and weekends.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience working with vulnerable adults in a support or care setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good understanding and practical application of safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Basic technical and problem-solving skills
  • High levels of empathy, patience, and resilience
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
  • Relevant qualifications in social care, health, or community work are desirable
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Driving licence and Car are essential for this role.
