Food Manufacturing | Greater Manchester
Salary:
Up to £60,000 + Benefits
Are you a hands-on Hygiene Manager who thrives in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment and takes real pride in setting the gold standard?
Our client, a highly respected food manufacturing business in Greater Manchester, is looking for an experienced Night Shift Hygiene Manager to take ownership of site hygiene performance and lead a dedicated night hygiene function.
This is a key leadership role where you’ll have real influence—driving standards, shaping procedures, and ensuring the site is always audit-ready.
The role
You’ll lead and develop a team of Hygiene Supervisors, Team Leaders and operatives, ensuring world-class hygiene standards are achieved every night. Working closely with engineering and technical teams, you’ll protect plant and equipment while delivering robust, compliant cleaning regimes.
Key responsibilities include:
* Owning and maintaining cleaning schedules and hygiene plans
* Validating daily cleaning performance and verification records
* Developing and improving hygiene procedures in line with legislation and best practice
* Preparing detailed cleaning instructions and method statements
* Managing and controlling hygiene service providers
* Carrying out risk assessments and supporting audits and inspections
* Investigating and resolving microbiological issues and hygiene incidents
* Ensuring all hygiene staff are fully trained, competent, and engaged
What we’re looking for
* Food Hygiene Level 4 and Food Safety Level 4
* Strong allergen awareness
* Health & Safety qualifications (Manual Handling, Level 3 H&S, IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent)
* Experience with risk assessments, hazard reporting, and accident investigation
* Knowledge of Mental Health at Work, GDPR Essentials, and Equity, Diversity & Inclusion
* A proactive, standards-driven leader who enjoys developing teams
Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required to support the operation.
Why apply?
With a salary of up to £60,000 plus an attractive benefits package, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking food manufacturer where hygiene is taken seriously and leadership is valued. You’ll be trusted to run your area, drive improvements, and make a real impact.
If you’re an experienced hygiene professional ready for a role with responsibility, visibility, and challenge, we’d love to hear from you
